We're making travel FREE for carers and Disability Support Pensioners on weekends.
For the close to 300,000 carers and people on the DSP who rely on our PT system, this change will save them more than $360 every year.
From Feb 1st, Carer Card holders and those on the Disability Support Pension will tap their myki like usual, but they won't be charged.

The Allan Labor Government is introducing a Violence Reduction Unit. It will treat violent crime at the source and stop the spread.
It’s based a successful program from Glasgow to treat violent crime as a preventable disease.
A study undertaken in 2016 by St. Andrews University on the effects of the Violence Reduction Unit showed there was an 85% drop in weapon carrying, 73% fall in gang fighting, and a 46% reduction in violent crime amongst participants.

The beautiful humans of @mymamasaidstudios have a new home in Footscray, and they have put everything into creating a warm, inclusive and welcoming space.
A dedicated reformer room, dance classes, yoga, barre… there’s a sauna set to open. My Mama Said have something for everyone’s level of fitness or goal.
There’s 20 additional classes per week now!
Ps- with exercise I feel like I am always going in the wrong direction, getting the wobbles or needing a Little Lie Down (LLD) and IT’S 100% OKAY to go at your own pace at My Mama Said.

Williamstown Road will have an overnight and weekend no truck zone.
To make this happen we have had to work extensively with industry on modelling and behaviour change. We are also re-zoning land to get the container parks to more suitable locations closer to the Port.
Peter Anderson from the Victorian Transport Association joined @melissaforwilliamstown and I this morning as we spoke to media about this decision.
Peter has been a steady industry partner - he understands this is about community, safety and amenity… but also that it’s a smart move to modernise freight and logistics.

After a lot of hard work. Years. @melissaforwilliamstown and I have secured curfews for Williamstown Road. A new No Truck Zone. Nights, weekends.
We will have more to tell you over the next week but this is one of the proudest things I’ve achieved as an MP, working within Government to deliver a really incredible outcome.
