Last week on International Women’s Day in parliament, I celebrated some of the many impactful women and female-led organisations in the inner west.
It was an honour to recognise the women leading the hard work of our local schools and sporting organisations across the Footscray electorate.

There’s something for everyone at this year’s @rising.melbourne festival.
You can re-live the 90’s and learn the Melbourne Shuffle at a series of dance classes in the Flinders Street ballroom. You can explore Reverb, a journey into sound at @acmionline. You can dance, sing, watch, think and play.
From theatre - to the Australian Dance Biennale, Lil’ Kim, free events, events for the kids…
A privilege to launch this program with the team from Rising. As Parliamentary Secretary for Creative Industries, it makes me so proud to see the work of so many come together in this incredible festival of art.

Team Footscray ❤️ 🏆
Remember when you joined my campaign urging the Courthouse Hotel owners to clean the place up? 🧹
You helped me with the petition. I raised it in Parliament, met with the owner, he listened and submitted plans to Council… now it’s underway.
The old girl could be something special if the focus isn’t just gaming machines. My understanding is the TAB is going and will be replaced by a sports bar. Maybe a place to watch those mighty doggies? There will be a limited food offer, bigger windows and lighting so it doesn’t look so dark, new carpet and paint and a new cleaned up entry.
Thank you for helping me with this call Footscray- and I’m grateful to the owner for listening to our concerns.
Today is Labor Day, which celebrates the Victorian Union Movement’s historic fight for 8 hour work days.
Pictured is the Sunshine Harvester works, whose workers fought for and secured the first Minimum Wage in 1907.
Labor is making it safer and easier for families to recycle their old batteries, with more battery collection bins rolling out across the state.
The Allan Labor Government is funding local councils and registered charities to create the new battery drop off points and upgrade 17 existing sites to handle more batteries.
The Small Acts Big Impact campaign is also supporting families to recycle correctly, by reminding households that batteries and e-waste do not belong in kerbside bins.
Victorians can find their nearest battery recycling location at recyclemate.com.au
We have outstanding young leaders at @footscray_high_school. ⭐️
It was a pleasure to host Andy and Francis, who came in and interviewed me about leadership for their podcast.
We talked about the importance of ‘kind leadership’ and what a great local school Footscray High is.

If you can do your job from home, you’ll have the right to do so – no matter the size of your workplace.
The Premier has announced the first major update into the design of the Allan Labor Government’s world-first Work From Home Laws.
From September 1st, all Victorians will now have the right to work from home for 2 days a week.
