I am thrilled to share that Footscray North Primary School has secured $10,000 in support from the Victorian Government to spark creativity in the classroom.
Students will have the incredible opportunity to work with circus and physical theatre artist, Katy Burrows, who will build their acro-balance skills while teaching the importance of teamwork and trust. Their hard work will be presented in a special performance at the school’s art show.
This is exactly what investing in our young people’s creativity looks like - giving every student the chance to explore their creativity, learn new skills, and thrive at school without added pressure on families.
BREAKING: We’re extending free PT until the end of May - then making fares half-price from June 1 for the rest of the year to help take pressure off at the pump.

Love the @footscrayparkbowls club ❤️
Throwing the most sparkly, fun, joyful and inclusive party of the year today - there’s DJs, there’s @miss_ex_travagaza and @gigisparxx and of course, lawn bowls.
Incredible job by Tod and the team - it’s such a fun day. Follow the music, join in the Footscray bar crawl tonight. You’re always welcome and feel the love at Footscray Park ❤️
PUT IT IN THE MUSEUM:
Dave is retiring and I am so sad - from the ‘keep footy at the western oval’ sticker on the door, to the magnificent chips and chook, it’s certainly the end of an era. I understand that today is the last day of trading for McManos Chicken in Seddon - Dave - enjoy your well earned retirement!
I am grateful for many years of crinkle cut chips - the finest vehicle for chicken salt and gravy there ever was.

This collaboration wasn’t on my bingo card for 2026 - but I’m here for it, and it’s powerful!
The Duke of Sussex chose Footscray to share an important message about men’s health with @movember and the @wbcfoundation. He spoke from the heart about mental health and wellbeing for new dads. He was generous and honest.
The @westernbulldogs have always been the community club, with the groundbreaking Sons of the West health program. Likewise, the work @movember does brings together research and tangible help.
I loved watching Prince Harry meeting Footscray’s own royalty, the mighty Western Bulldogs players for a kick on our hallowed turf at Barkly Street!
Lauren Philpott is an amazing young local woman. She raises awareness and fundraises for Breast Cancer Network Australia in honour of her mum, Leigh, who passed away from breast cancer in 2023.
From 2023-2025, participation rates in a breast screening within Footscray was only 52.30% - lower than the statewide average.
Early detection of breast cancer improves the chances of successful treatment.
If you are aged 50 to 74 and without breast symptoms, you can book a free 10-minute breast screen every 2 years.
Book now at breastscreen.org.au or call 13 20 50
