A recap of 2021

This year has been a pretty mixed bag, so I wanted to use the last week of Parliament to focus on some of the bright spots.

For me, these include opening the Pilgrim Street Campus of Footscray High School, Footscray North Primary School 3011’s $111,000 Inclusive School Fund construction commencing and their $16.13 million upgrade, the $1.5 billion tram maintenance and stabling facility in Maidstone, and $9 million to expand Tweddle Australia.

Our big $13.428 million win for Footscray City Primary School and the $18.217 million upgrade of Footscray Primary School are also incredibly exciting for those school communities.
There are so many more I could have talked about, like more than $1.6 million of Power Saving Bonus funding throughout the Footscray electorate, more than 20kms of pop-up bike lanes, the launch of the new Footscray Hospital Jobs Hub, more than $93,000 funding for the Filipino Community Council of Victoria Incorporated to continue their vital community support work, and the opening of the new prayer hall and library at Heavenly Queen Temple Footscray.

A huge thank you to our local community groups and volunteers who make Footscray such a special place to live and represent.

In my last members statement of the year I wanted to put on the record my thanks to my hardworking staff too – Hannah, Sel, Linden and Fraser who are there for our community every day.
